Lotte is finally healthy again!

Today was a beautiful day! Lotte was able to ride her daughter Amelie for the first time again.
But first things first. As most of our students and clients already know, our Lotte, the horse from my childhood, had a severe throat blockage! And it didn’t look good at all.
But for our Lotte, it didn’t matter to us how old she was or whether the effort was „worth it“ – we just had to try everything we could.

So we went to the clinic after there was no success at home in resolving the throat blockage with the nasal tube. The vets at the clinic didn’t give us much hope either. Then finally, they were able to resolve the blockage. Unfortunately, they also told me that the esophagus is 10 cm in length with no function and that there is a significant bulge in the esophagus.

In the clinic, Lotte needed a lot of support. So I went out with Amelie or Isi twice a day to take Lotte for a walk. From now on, she was not allowed to eat hay anymore. The veterinary nurses alone couldn’t do it.

Lotte stayed in the clinic for three days, but it soon became clear that Lotte wanted to go home again! So we decided to give the remaining infusions at home and bring Lotte back to her friends.
When they arrived home, Lotte only wanted to go out to the pasture with one of her friends to eat grass, because that was the only thing she wanted to eat. We tried everything possible, but only grass—and with a friend—could get Lotte to eat.

Our suppliers were also excellent, just as they were at Penny. They were happy to provide any support requested, which significantly eased the first few nights when Lotte had to remain under constant observation.

Meanwhile, Lotte is eating again. Although she will no longer be able to eat hay and haylage, Mash, hay cubes and grass will now be on Lotte’s diet plan. However, with this „diet“, Lotte has become fitter and has now grown back to her original weight, almost too thick!
Lotte also became overconfident and cheeky again, which we are very happy about!

Today it finally happened and Lotte was able to ride again for the first time with Amelie. They had a lot of fun! You could clearly see it in Lotte: „Finally running again“ 😉

Let's see how things go with Lotte. She's now 31 years old, she has a few missing teeth, but she's fit and funny. The children will be happy, because at least Lotte is our best teacher and has probably already taught several hundred horse riding beginners their first steps!

A very heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us in caring for Lotte!

We are very happy that Lotte is doing well again. Preintner family

Advent time & Corona won't let up!

We had to close our farm to general visits again. Only the urgent care of the horses, which also includes moving the horses, is allowed from November 25, 2021 onwards. The reason for this is that the Mühldorf district belongs to the so-called „hotspot regions“ with an incidence >1000.

We will nevertheless do everything possible to ensure that you can provide your horses with care at our stables, even with the help of your riding participation. This also applies to unvaccinated individuals, whose decision we expressly respect. Our recommendation is nevertheless: Get vaccinated! The virus will affect you; the question is only whether you are vaccinated or not. Of course, we consider this to be an individual decision for each individual.

However, in addition to our government’s long hesitation, it is also partly the fault of the unvaccinated that we are now in this situation again. One thing remains clear: hospitals must remain able to accommodate patients, even if you have a riding accident, for example.

Overall, I think we are well organized with our app; everyone can see when free times, for example in the hall, are available and plan their attendance accordingly. But I ask you to be considerate of one another, keep it short, and avoid unnecessary attendance as in the last lockdown.

We are not the cause of the pandemic; we have already proven that during the last lockdown. Help us keep this situation the same. Here is an update on visits since the beginning of the pandemic: we are proud to have not had a single case of COVID-19 traced back to us so far and we hope that this will continue to be the case.

This time is not easy for our school horses either. They also need affection, care and exercise. Many thanks in advance to our equestrian participants, who are now compensating for the inevitable longer periods of standing our school horses are forced to spend. If you know anyone else who would like to help us with the care and exercise of our school horses by participating in a horseback riding activity, please let us know. The school horses will thank you.

We will also have to forgo a stable Christmas this year. We find this very unfortunate, because we already had to cancel last year. But we think this is the right decision and we hope for your understanding.

Finally, I would like to make one final personal recommendation. If you are still using this time during the quiet Advent season to spend it with your family, make it as beautiful as possible at home, and spend as much time as possible with your loved ones in the family. With your children, parents, or grandparents. Then, in the new year, at the latest in the spring, with renewed strength and energy, we can all spend a wonderful time together with our horses again.

In this spirit, we wish you all a wonderful Advent season!

Yours sincerely, Gerhard, Your family Preintner
